Sleeping Beauty

You need to wake her up with a kiss, oh handsome prince!

My friend had given me the idea to take the story of Sleeping Beauty and turn it into children playing. And so this was made!

It was lots fun playing with the Acrylic Washes and drawing the fairies as dolls was fun, as well.

And if you'd like to see my friend's work you can visit his blogger right here.

And through the forest

I told you I was done with the Tigers and Coffee! ....for now...

I'm not the biggest fan of Alice in Wonderland, but the story lends itself to such great imagery and character design that I just couldn't stop myself from drawing different scenes! It was also nice to go back to marker work, which is something I haven't done in quite some time! I just need to restock on some colors now!
Haha, I'm not going to lie! I love working on the Cheshire Cat for as little as he's there! Perhaps I'll do another image with him later.
Also designing Alice was far more fun than it should have been. What can I say? I love frilly dresses and bows!

Mornings Suck

Yes, part of the same series of tigers and Lattes! I'm sorry, I'm sorry this will be the last you see of this series...for now. Anyways, I wanted to try a more narrative take on this and thus, went in a much more cartoony style. So I had this poor little tiger sipping his coffee in the morning. Blue robe and all.

SPLAT

I guess these tigers and coffee cups just won't stop! I really wanted to experiment with a technique with drip washes and stencils and after I saw a step by step process from another artist, I decided to try it out!

Here's the result!

Let's just say I left a very big mess in my bathroom sink!

Oh the coffee and the tigers again! I just couldn't help myself. This one was really fun to ink, especially with all the splatter marks.

There's something on your croissant!

Again with the tigers and the lattes! This series of illustrations was really fun to do! This is when I found out that I loved painting in acrylic washes. The background was fun to make, especially with the texture.

Watch Out!

Well, the assignment was to combine two things that you enjoy drawing. Of course I misinterpreted as two things I ENJOY so I chose tigers and coffee. I did find out that I enjoy painting liquid, though!

Anyways, this little (Maybe big?) tiger might get hit with a latte. Poor little guy.
